Welcome!

If you’re a teen or young adult, this page is for you!  You have probably found yourself here because at one point you have either thought about or have already made the conscious decision to take drugs or alcohol.  You may already be at the point of feeling that your life is spiraling out of control.  The truth is that you are the only one who can make a decision for yourself to change.

Have you ever heard the sayings that, “enough is enough” or “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired”?  Well that is exactly how I felt before I finally made the decision to start over.  Have you ever stopped to play out the movie in your head to where you’ll end up if you continue with drug and alcohol abuse?  My movie never ended well, and I never thought I’d live to see 18.

As a teen I tried anything that would come my way.  I didn’t discriminate against any drug.  I didn’t start out that way, but year after year I found myself more willing to try anything and do anything for a high.  Alcohol was always around and easily accessible and I found myself to be more than a potential alcoholic and drug addict.

Eventually there was no question that I was an addict.  Every fiber of me knew it.  The thing about being an alcoholic and an addict is that you have the only disease that tells you that you don’t have a disease.  If you are just a recreational drug and alcohol user you never know when the moment will come when your brain will begin to experience cravings, turning you into a full blown addict.  For some it just takes that one time.

There were many points in my using that I felt hopeless and all alone but I found that there were others out there just like me who were searching for the same answers.  If you or someone you know is looking for solutions or just hope of a better way then I invite you to purchase our book, "ADDICTED LIKE ME, A Mother-Daughter Story of Substance Abuse and Recovery".  In our book we take you on a journey of alcohol and drug abuse through the eyes of a parent and a teen who finally find recovery just in the knick of time.  Hopefully our book can answer some of the questions you may be pondering in your own mind.  It’s never too early to get help, but it can be too late!
